Santa Monica Teen Social Support Group

The Loneliness Cure: A Social Support Group for Teens

Young adults

Starting Saturday, June 16, 2019

  • FOR: Teens (ages 14-17)
  • WHERE: 1247 7th Street, Santa Monica
  • WHEN: Saturdays at 10:30 am
  • COST: $200 per person, per month

Let’s face it. It’s tough being a teen these days … especially for shy, sensitive and anxious teens. Teens can struggle socially, for many reasons. For example:

  1. Shyness can lead to social isolation.
  2. Moodiness can drive adolescents away from their peer group.
  3. Some teens may be ostracized due to excelling academically (or underachieving).
  4. Adolescents spending too much time on the Internet (or video games) can lose touch with their peers.

What if there was a place where your teen could hang out with a small group of peers to work on their confidence in social groups, and feel more empowered in social situations? Well, there is!

In this workshop, your teen will learn how to:

  • Make new connections
  • Let others get to know them
  • Express what they feel and need
  • Be assertive (not aggressive) in their communication

We are currently interviewing participants. Limited to 8 members per group.
