A Note From the L.A. Teen Therapist

During the teen years, it is not uncommon for parents to feel they are failing in their child‐rearing responsibilities. However, with the right approach you can build healthier relationships with your teen, and guide them on the path to becoming a happy and productive young adult.

The parenting class I offer is private, individually tailored to meet each family’s needs. In it, I will teach you about healthy attachment styles, and have you reflect upon how the way in which you were parented. Together, we will explore how your teen’s life experiences may have impacted their development, and current behavior.

We typically meet for six sessions, during which I will give you short reading assignments to complete before each session. In each meeting we tackle specific challenges the you are facing with your teen, during which I will coach on how to understand and better approach these challenges.

Yes, you can learn how to strengthen your relationship with your teen while increasing cooperation, harmony, and happiness within the family!

By the end of this 6‐week course you will be able to help your teenager become more responsible, communicative, and independent.

**Recommended for parents with children between the ages of 11 and 19.

I am proposing a style of interaction that honors the authority of the parent while accommodating the teen’s need for personal autonomy. Families facing serious challenges at home will feel empowered by proven parenting strategies that will truly make a difference in their lives.
