A Note From the L.A. Teen Therapist
In modern classrooms, where left brain skills are valued, creative teenagers can be given the message that something is wrong with them. -Sandra
Not every teen is suited for college. It is important for parents to realize whether their adolescent is academically oriented or has more creative inclinations.
With all the budget cuts in the public school system, many creative outlets are being taken away from those students. Band, theater groups, dance and art classes may not even be offered at some schools any more.
For those students who are driven to express themselves artistically, parents can help their teens to find activities where they can thrive. After school programs are being offered through some local community centers and are also available in private classes.
For students who are struggling with traditional academic classes, they may benefit from having some support in the way of tutoring. In this manner, should they decide to continue on to higher education, they can learn the skills and information they will need.
… EMPOWERING TEENS TO BE THEIR BEST SELVES.
“The best example of Sandra’s work is in my daughter’s renewed enthusiasm and attitude towards life. My daughter now sees every problem as one that can be solved, every uncomfortable experience as an opportunity to learn and grow. Sandra’s work with my daughter has helped her become a more secure, confident and happy individual.”
