Puberty is a journey into the unknown, filled with many new experiences and feelings.- Sandra
Oftentimes, being a child means having little to no responsibilities. Childhood is also known as a time of innocence and play and being taken care of by adults. Becoming an adolescent requires that teens put aside some of their play to start learning the skills that they will need as they get older.
Puberty is a natural part of life which every person goes through. During this time, the body changes, as it prepares itself for reproduction and ultimately the creation of a family. It is not uncommon for teens to experience some feelings of awkwardness, as they get used to looking and feeling different than they used to.
This is where parents, older siblings and extended family members can come in handy. They have already been there, and can guide and support teens in the things they need to learn. Teens might also want to consult with a nurse at your school or their pediatrician to learn more specifics about what to physically expect.
